Hugh M. Durden

Hugh Durden was born in Gadsden, Alabama and raised in Marietta, Georgia. Upon graduating from Princeton University (1965), he was commissioned into the U. S. Navy. He spent five years as a naval aviator, including flight duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he earned an MBA degree from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business (1972).

Mr. Durden was elected an individual Trustee and Chairman of the Trust in 2005. He became a Trustee of the Alfred I. duPont Testamentary Trust in 1997 as a Representative of the Corporate Trustee (Wachovia Bank) and was elected to the Board of Directors of The Nemours Foundation in July 1997.

Mr. Durden retired as President of Wachovia Corporate Services in 2001. Mr.
Durden joined Wachovia Bank in 1972 after business school and remained there throughout his business career, serving in leadership positions in North Carolina and Georgia.

He serves as a director of The St. Joe Company and Web.com Group, Inc. He is also active in several non-profit organizations as a director of Camp Boggy Creek and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the EARTH University Trust in Costa Rica.
