Roy Proujansky, MD: Executive Vice President, Patient Operations and Chief Operating Officer

Roy Proujansky was born in New York, NY. He received his undergraduate degree and his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Il. He subsequently trained in Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Proujansky completed a Clinical and Research fellowship in the Combined Program in Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and a Research Fellowship in Infectious Diseases in the Combined Infectious Disease Training Program at Harvard Medical School. Upon completion of his training, Dr. Proujansky joined the faculty at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Proujansky was appointed Chief Executive of all Nemours Delaware Valley Operations in 2013, including Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. In this dual role, as Chief Executive of Delaware Valley Operations, Dr. Proujansky is responsible for all clinical operations at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Nemours duPont Pediatrics. In addition, as Executive Vice President, he will continue overseeing Nemours’ enterprise-wide research, education, quality and safety, patient care, service excellence and prevention efforts. Dr. Proujansky is based in Wilmington, DE, and reports directly to Nemours President and Chief Executive Officer, David J. Bailey, MD, MBA.

He joined Nemours in 1989 as Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. In 1999, he was named the Chief Executive of the Practice, Nemours duPont Pediatrics (formerly Nemours Children’s Clinic) in Wilmington in the Delaware Valley. From 2000 – 2006 he also served as the Robert L. Brent Professor and Chairman, Department of Pediatrics, and Associate Dean, Jefferson Medical College (Philadelphia). In 2005, Dr. Proujansky was appointed to the Executive Group as a Vice President of Nemours, and in 2006 became Executive Vice President, Patient Operations and Chief Operating Officer of Nemours responsible for all patient care, research, prevention and education activities.

Dr. Proujansky is married to Michelle, and they have two children. They live in Pennsylvania. During non-work hours, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, traveling and exercise.
