Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE was recognized by NC Prevention Partners (NCPP) for providing the highest standard of excellence for comprehensive wellness programs offered to their employees through their healthy food environment. Hospitals receiving this acknowledgment are considered Gold Apple Hospitals. In partnership with the Children’s Hospital Association (formerly known as NACHRI), NC Prevention Partners is working to improve the health of hospital employees in children’s hospitals by creating worksite wellness environments where the healthy choice is the easy choice.
The duPont Hospital for Children addresses how policy, the environment, education, benefits, and incentives support healthy eating. The Gold Apple is awarded to hospitals that provide delicious, affordable and healthy foods to all employees all the time.
