Friday, Nov 2, 2012

Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington

This month, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children received a gift of $130,337 from the Kohl’s Cares® program. For the seventh year in a row, this generous grant from Kohl’s Department Stores will be used to enhance the hospital’s injury prevention education programs to local communities.

On Friday, November 2, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Kohl’s hosted a family fun day at the Kohl's store in Middletown, DE. The donation was presented by Kohl’s district manager Denise Merson to Managing Director of the Nemours Fund for Children’s Health Lori Counts, and was followed by activities throughout the store. The hospital’s Trauma and Injury Prevention staff was onsite to educate children and families about common safety concerns.

Over the past seven years, Kohl's has donated $764,329 to Nemours, helping to fund the Kohl’s Healthy Kids Injury Prevention Program, develop educational materials on injury prevention, and sponsor safety events for children and families. “We are grateful to Kohl’s for this generous gift and for their ongoing commitment to keeping Delaware’s children healthy and safe. We truly appreciate and value this partnership and the support of the Kohl’s organization,” said Ms. Counts.
