Lake Nona Families Have a New Pediatric Urgent Care

Nemours Childrens Urgent Care Offers Care 365 days a Year

Friday, Apr 15, 2016

Families in Southeast Orange County can now see a board-certified pediatrician at a time when most doctors’ offices are closed. Nemours Children’s Urgent Care in Lake Nona opened April 15, providing families with urgent medical services on evenings, weekends and holidays.

"We know kids don’t wait for office hours to get sick or injured," said Dr. Robert Cooper, medical director of Nemours Children’s Urgent Care. "And we know that not every situation requires a trip to the emergency department. This new location gives families an option to see a pediatric expert at the time and place best suited to their needs."

Board-certified pediatric providers will be able to care for issues such as flu, broken bones, cuts and ear infections. Care is available to kids and young adults, from newborns to 21 years of age. Nemours Children’s Urgent Care will be located at 9368 Narcoossee Road, suite 105 — just south of the Beachline Expressway.

Nemours operates at total of six pediatric urgent care centers in Central Florida, including this new location in Lake Nona. The other locations include:

  • Dr. Phillips
  • Kissimmee
  • Melbourne
  • Sanford
  • Waterford Lakes

Nemours also operates 14 Nemours Children’s Primary Care locations in Central Florida, three Nemours Children’s Specialty Care locations and Nemours CareConnect — the country’s first pediatric telehealth application — which allows families anywhere in Florida to have a video visit with a Nemours pediatrician, 24/7, through a smartphone, tablet or desktop internet.

Nemours Children’s Hospital opened in Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City in October 2012.
