Orlando

UnitedHealthcare and Nemours Children’s Health System have expanded their network relationship, providing people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare’s employer-sponsored, individual, Medicaid and Florida Healthy Kids benefits plans continued access to the health system’s clinics, while giving new access to care provided by Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando.

Nemours Children’s Health System includes about 400 pediatricians, pediatric sub-specialists and other clinicians providing pediatric medical care and support services at facilities located in Jacksonville, Pensacola and Central Florida. Nemours is a leader in new treatments and manages a biomedical research program dedicated to restoring and improving children’s health.

Nemours Children’s Hospital opened in October 2012 in Orlando and is a not-for-profit, 100-bed, full-service, Joint Commission accredited, acute care pediatric medical facility with a 24/7 pediatric emergency room. The hospital provides specialized pediatric care in the areas of emergency medicine, hematology, neonatology, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, surgical services and other subspecialties. Nemours Children’s Hospital also offers pediatric respiratory and rehabilitative therapy in an environment designed for families, by families.

“Our renewed relationship with Nemours Children’s Clinics and our new relationship with Nemours Children’s Hospital gives Florida children and families broader access to quality, cost-effective health care,” said David Lewis, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Central/North Florida.

“Nemours is committed to providing the highest quality care for all children with families at the center of their care,” said Robert Bridges, Nemours’ Chief Executive of Florida Operations. “Through our new and expanded relationship with UnitedHealthcare, we are pleased to have the opportunity to provide access for UnitedHealthcare’s plan participants to Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando and to continue providing our unique model of care for Florida families through our network of care locations from Pensacola to Jacksonville and across Central Florida.”
