Facial Anomalies Program

Children and young adults with complex facial deformities caused by a birth defects, tumors and trauma require the expertise of multiple specialists. No single person or specialty can appropriately care for these children.

Often these deformities affect the skull, face and brain development, as well as the child’s ability to breathe, hear, speak and eat properly. Since a child’s self image is often measured by the acceptance of their peers, any therapy must take into account not only improving the child’s appearance but also their functional and social abilities.

Our team includes individuals with special interests in caring for children and young adults with deformities of the head, neck and craniofacial skeleton. We believe in a multispecialty team-based approach to evaluating and treatment planning where the child is the primary focus of our care.
