Hospital Pediatrics
The Division of Hospital Pediatrics of the Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville consists skilled pediatricians and nurses who specialize in hospital-based pediatric care at Wolfson Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital. Hospitalists are all board-certified and have dedicated their practice to optimize the care provided to hospitalized patients. Hospitalists provide pediatric care for chronically ill children and hospitalized children who need treatment for illnesses such as asthma, croup, pneumonia, gastroenteritis, dehydration, fever, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, and viral illnesses. Referrals to the division are accepted from any primary care physician within the region of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
During a child’s stay in the hospital, the hospitalists will provide care as the attending physician. Optimal provision of care requires careful coordination of services with the referring physician and consultants as required.
Nemours Division of Hospital Pediatrics exclusively practice within the hospital environment. This focus has allowed a unique expertise that benefits referring physicians, consultants, and most importantly the patient. Our division continually strives to improve the care of hospitalized patients and optimize the transition to outpatient care with the child’s referring physician.
