Infectious Disease

The Division of Infectious Diseases/Immunology at the Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents with a diversity of acute and chronic infections. These include bone and joint infections, fever of unknown origin, congenital and neonatal infections, encephalitis, meningitis, Kawasaki disease, skin rashes, rheumatic fever, tuberculosis, recurrent infections, hepatitis, lung and heart infections, complicated urinary tract infection, and persistent, unusual, or recalcitrant infections. Indications for referral include patients with recurrent, persistent, unusual, or recalcitrant infections and identification of resistant microorganisms.
