Behavioral Health
The Division of Behavioral Pediatrics includes physicians, psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Masters of Social Work. The department provides an array of services to help meet the psychosocial (mental, emotional, and social) needs of families and children who visit the Nemours Children’s Clinic. The division uses a team approach for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of emotional and behavioral problems, addressing these problems with attention to their physical, genetic, developmental, emotional, cognitive, educational, social, spiritual, and family components. Individual and family therapies, as well as psychological testing, are available. Common referral problems include attention deficits, hyperactivity, Autism and Developmental Delay, learning disabilities, medical noncompliance (patient doesn’t listen to the doctors orders), pain management, and other health-related behavioral and emotional problems. Members of the division are active participants in a number of clinics, including Hematology/Oncology, Endocrine Diabetes Clinic, IBD clinic, Healthy Choices Clinic and Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. The Behavioral Pediatrics team works closely with the physicians at Nemours to provide integrated care to children and families.
