Infectious Disease
The Division of Infectious Disease is composed of board certified Infectious Disease specialists, Nurses and Medical Assistants. The division provides evaluation, diagnostic and treatment for children with chronic or recurrent infections and unusual bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. These include fevers of uncertain origin, Kawasaki’s syndrome, bone and joint infections, skin rashes, pneumonia, tuberculosis, skin and soft tissue infections, meningitis and persistent or recurring infections. Coordination of care for diagnosis and treatment of infectious illness is provided. Consultation with other pediatric subspecialists is available as needed. The physicians provide care for HIV positive children through the Help, Understand and Guide ME (HUG ME) Center, a division of the Howard Phillips Center for Children and Families at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
