Pulmonology
The Division of Pulmonary Medicine provides consultation, diagnosis, and continuing care and therapy for infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of acute and chronic lung and airway diseases. Children with apnea, cystic fibrosis (CF), asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, recurrent or acute pneumonia, chronic cough, tuberculosis, and respiratory diseases or neuromuscular disorders are seen on an inpatient and outpatient basis. In addition to the clinical care the division provides in Orlando, its staff travels on a weekly basis to satellite clinics located in Lake Mary (Northeast of Orlando) and Viera (Southeast of Orlando).
Inpatient care and consultation is provided at Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital. The Division has three Pediatric Pulmonologists and two Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. Additional clinical support is provided by two Registered Nurses, a Licensed Practical Nurse, and two Medical Assistants.
A state of the art Pulmonary Function Lab is available. This is staffed by a Respiratory Therapist.
Our cystic fibrosis program is recognized as a Center of Excellence in the state of Florida. This multi disciplinary clinic is managed by our Pulmonologists, nursing staff, a social worker and a dietitian who has been recognized nationally for her work with this disease.
The Sleep Center is a four-bed facility that is devoted to diagnosing sleep disorders. This can include sleep apnea, night terrors, sleep walking and narcolepsy. The Center is staffed with Respiratory Therapists who have specialized in sleep disorders.

This program is the only cystic fibrosis center in town for pediatrics.
