Richard T. Christopher

Richard T. "Dick" Christopher, president and CEO, of Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate, graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Maryland in 1961 with a BS in accounting. He began his real estate career in 1961 with Patterson-Schwartz and has served as a salesman, sales manager, general manager, and executive vice president.

Mr. Christopher is a member and past Chairman of the New Castle County Board of Realtors, a member of the Delaware Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. He was Director and past Chairman of The Dozen and the Realty Alliance, both national organizations of leading real estate companies. Dick is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors for TREND (The Delaware Valley Regional MLS) and currently serves on its Executive Committee.

Mr. Christopher has served and is serving on many committees and boards of directors for local non-profit organizations and schools. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for The Nemours Foundation, he is a member of and past Chairman of the Board of Managers (1994-2007) for Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Chairman of the Advisory Council of Nemours Health & Preventive Services. He was recently co-chair for the capital campaign for Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County, has been on the board of the Catholic Diocese Foundation, and currently serves on the Finance Council for the Catholic Diocese. He is currently involved with the MS Society, Habitat for Humanity and the St. Patrick’s Day Society, raising funds for St. Patrick’s Center. 

In addition to his Nemours Board and Board Committee assignments, Mr. Christopher and fellow Director, Jack Porter are serving as co-chairs of the capital campaign in support of funding for the expansion of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.
