Nemours is committed to making a difference in the lives of children by acting as an advocate for children's health.

We understand that healthcare is only one dimension of overall children's health and well-being. We work to address major health issues such as childhood obesity and reading readiness by becoming a leader in health information and education, programs, and policy making.
Based in Washington, D.C., the Nemours Office of Child Health Policy and Advocacy works to impact national health policies that improve the health of all children.
The JeffSTARS (Jefferson Service Training in Advocacy for Residents and Students) Program is dedicated to teaching health advocacy to residents in the Pediatric Residency Program of Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) and Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, residents in the Family and Community Medicine Resident Training Program at TJU, and medical students at Jefferson Medical College.
Nemours Health & Prevention Services (NHPS) focuses on childhood obesity prevention through the promotion of healthy lifestyles.Working with community partners, as well as national organizations, NHPS is dedicated to helping children grow up healthy by working in all the areas where children live, learn and play.
Learning to read is a challenging task for many children, yet essential for a child's well-being. Nemours BrightStart! is the first program of its kind in the nation that helps level the playing field for young learners through early identification and science-based instructional support.
KidsHealth.org, created by Nemours Center for Children's Media, offers award-winning children's health information, including more than 5,000 doctor-reviewed, up-to-date, and easy-to-read articles, interactive features, games, and video (in English and Spanish).
