The translational research programs encompassed by the Center for Applied Clinical Genomics are focused on understanding genetics and the basis of genetic order and disorders in children, and gene environment interactions that contribute to human malformations. These studies are helping to advance the understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms of a diverse group of disorders affecting children.
Three core laboratories are included in the CACG:
- Biomolecular Core Laboratory
- Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory
- Pelizaeus Merzbacher Disease Diagnostics Laboratory
Both Diagnostics Laboratories regularly collaborate with Nemours clinical specialists, including rheumatologists, weight management, cardiologists and endocrinologists to process and analyze DNA samples.
Other laboratories within CACG include the Human Genetics Research Laboratory and the Musculoskeletal Inherited Disease Laboratory.
