The Family Advisory Council (FAC) is a diverse group of individuals, comprised of parents, families, and Nemours associates, dedicated to improving the quality of care for our patients.
The mission of the Family Advisory Council is to contribute to the development and enhancement of family-centered care at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Nemours Children's Clinics, and to promote partnerships among patients, family members, and health care professionals.
The Family Advisory Council:
- acts as a trusted advisory resource to associates, patients, and families
- partners with associates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, policies, and services
- advises and assists in the education and professional development of staff
- assists in identifying the needs and concerns of patients and families
- empowers patients and families through information and education
- encourages active family involvement on hospital committees, task forces, and work groups
- increases awareness of the unique and diverse needs of families caring for a medically fragile and/or chronically ill child
- is an active and positive ambassador for the hospital and clinics in the surrounding communities
