Brian Anderson served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Baxter International from 1997 to 2004. He joined Baxter in 1991, as Vice President, Corporate Audit, became Corporate Controller in 1993 and then Vice President, Finance in 1997. Before joining Baxter, he spent 15 years with Touche Ross (previously Deloitte & Touche) in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Anderson’s education includes a BS in Accounting (magna cum laude) from Howard University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting (cum laude) from Indiana University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of W. W. Grainger Inc., Pulte Homes, and A.M. Castle James Hardie, Ltd. He currently serves as the Chairman of A.M. Castle, the Lead Director of W. W. Grainger and the Audit Committee Chair of James Hardie Ltd.
In 2002, Mr. Anderson was named to Fortune magazine’s “Top 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America” and was the inaugural recipient of the “Chief Financial Officer of the Year” awarded by the Chicago chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Mr. Anderson brings extensive financial and health care industry experience to his appointment as a Director of Nemours.
