Robert D. Bridges, CPA: Executive Vice President, Enterprise Services Chief Financial Officer

Robert D. Bridges is a Jacksonville, Fl, native. He attended the University of North Florida, where he earned a degree in business administration with a minor in English, and completed the requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant.

Robert D. Bridges was appointed Chief Executive of Florida Operations, including Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando and Nemours clinics in North Florida in 2013. In this dual role, the Senior Vice President and CEO of Nemours Children’s Hospital and the Vice President of Nemours North Florida Operations will report to him. Mr. Bridges also serves as Executive Vice President and CFO for Nemours with Enterprise oversight for Finance and Corporate Services, as well as Children’s Health Media, Nemours BrightStart! and the Fund for Children’s Health. Mr. Bridges is based in Jacksonville, Fl, and reports directly to Nemours President and Chief Executive Officer, David J. Bailey, MD, MBA.

He has served Nemours as Executive Vice President, Enterprise Services and Chief Financial Officer since 2008, responsible for financial leadership and management accountability for the effective operation of the business.

Mr. Bridges joined Nemours in 1999 as Vice President for Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer. In 2003, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Nemours, he served as Senior Manager with KPMG LLP, working primarily in the healthcare and insurance industries. His experience in healthcare mergers and acquisitions, and capital formation position him well to help lead Nemours in developing viable clinical and business models to advance their strategy.

Mr. Bridges has also developed and led the execution of the organization's fiscal and enterprise services strategies, yielding tremendous financial and operational capabilities and results in support of Nemours mission. He also championed the creation of aspects of Nemours' unique Associates health and welfare benefits, most notably, the Bridge to A Healthy Future.

He is a member of numerous organizations including American Medical Group Association (AMGA), Medical Group Management Association, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and is Past Chair of the Child Guidance Center Board of Directors. He is past president/director of the North Florida Region of the HFMA.
