Cheer for Charity Competition Raises Money for Hospital
Funds will help build a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Jeffrey Martino of Cheer for Charity (CFC) presented a donation to the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children on Monday, March 19, 2012.
More than 200 cheerleading teams from the Mid-Atlantic region competed in the 7th Annual Cheer for Charity event, February 18-19, 2012 at the Chase Center in Wilmington, DE. All-star, high school, recreational, Catholic Youth Ministry and special needs teams from Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia took part in the competition that raised $35,000 for Nemours/duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington.
This latest fundraiser was held to continue supporting a $250,000 pledge made by CFC to help the hospital build a new pediatric intensive care unit. In four years, Cheer for Charity has raised more than $125,000. Sponsors of the 2012 competition included Tiffin Mats, Champion Trophies, Insta Signs Plus and ZZ House Design Studio.
Event director Jeffrey Martino of Middletown, DE, praised the contributions of volunteers, sponsors, coaches, spectators and participants for the success of this charitable event, which ultimately benefits many of the region’s sickest children.
