Nemours Receives HR Department of the Year Award
Nemours is recognized by Delaware Valley HR Awards, Inc.
The Delaware Valley HR Awards, Inc. recognized Nemours Human Resources Department as the HR Department of the Year for organizations with a staff of 21-50 at a ceremony last week. The department was recognized for its strategy and activities to promote and engage high-performing Associates in meeting the Nemours commitment to family-centered care.
“This award is not only about the great work of our department,” commented Terri M. Young, Vice President, Human Resources, Nemours, “it is about the more than 4,000 Associates we serve in building a healthier future for children.”
Nemours HR Department is instrumental in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. Helping secure the department’s placing was the organization’s turnover rate.
For 2011, the Nemours turnover was 6.1 percent, besting the industry average of 12.6 percent. Epitomized in the practice of its Standards of Behavior, the department’s work in the organization’s culture change efforts are reflected in a 26 percent improvement in the 2011 Great Place to Work® Survey over the previous survey. In addition, Nemours received the highest accolade in Training and Development in the 2012 Workplace Dynamics survey that lists Top Workplaces in Delaware. Nemours ranked 5th overall in the survey.
The Delaware Valley HR Department of the Year was founded in 1998 by Scott Rosen, President of the Rosen Group, specialists in the placement of human resources professionals. Rosen’s belief was that HR professionals should receive recognition for what they do and the growth and change they produce within their organizations. He envisioned this program would raise the bar for HR professionals, and in its 15th year, it continues to do just that — be a successful attribute in the HR industry.
