The Caitlin Robb Foundation of Delaware recently presented a check for $60,000 in support of the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research. The Foundation has awarded a total of $260,000 to Nemours cancer research since 2007.

In accepting the contribution, Center Director Ayyappan Rajasekaran, PhD, said, "Research is a time-consuming and expensive effort. The contributions of the Caitlin Robb Foundation have been enormously helpful in generating the data needed to apply for grants from the National Institutes of Health."

In addition to supporting childhood cancer research, the Foundation provides assistance to families who are experiencing financial stress as a result of their child's illness and treatment. The Caitlin Robb Foundation was founded in 1995 in memory of a 2-year-old Tempe, AZ, girl who died of neuroblastoma, a form of solid tumor cancer.

The Delaware chapter of the Foundation raises funds through an annual golf tournament and other events.
