Our pulmonary specialists (lung and respiratory care doctors known as pulmonologists) treat infants, children and teens with diseases of the lungs and airways in family-friendly outpatient and inpatient environments. And because these diseases can affect other parts of the body, we work closely with specialists across Nemours. Together, our teams are dedicated to giving each child comprehensive and convenient care.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Care Center

One recognition of our expertise in Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and in the care of patients with CF is our recent accreditation as a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Care Center. Nemours Children's Clinic, Pensacola, in partnership with the Pensacola Lung Group, has been approved for accreditation for pediatric and adult care.

Our being a CF Foundation Care Center lets you know our clinic is staffed by experts in cystic fibrosis care and disease management. Care centers participate in CF clinical research and work to educate doctors, nurses and health care teams about CF and the care people living with the disease require for the best health. The centers are extensively reviewed annually by the Foundation's Center Committee before receiving accreditation and funding.

Our CF Center is the only such center in Northwest Florida and the only Core Care Center serving the area between New Orleans, Birmingham, Ala. and Gainesville, Fla.

Our Goal for Your Child

No matter what your child’s condition, we recognize the importance of the family in the care and healing process. Because many of the children we see have chronic (long-term) illnesses that require repeated visits, we are committed to building strong relationships with families. We’re also committed to teaching our patients and their families about their condition and how best to manage it. Through education, we can help improve your child’s quality of life, and also often decrease the number of school days your child misses as well as the number of times he or she requires emergency hospital care.
