How Nemours Works With Others

Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville is not a hospital and has no overnight facilities. Patients who need hospital stays are admitted to Wolfson Children's Hospital on the Baptist Medical Center campus. This partnership is to provide a continuum of care for the children in the community. The Jacksonville Clinic is also affiliated with the Mayo Foundation and the Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville. This relationship exists to develop and implement joint programs in medical care, education, and research. The brand new Ronald McDonald House, located across the street from the main clinic, provides additional assistance to the families of patients who have an extended stay.

Nemours' Continuing Medical Education Program sponsors educational activities for physicians and other health care professionals. These programs are designed to meet educational needs, to share recent developments and innovations in biomedical sciences, and to promote collaboration and cooperation between health care professionals. Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville also helps educate doctors at all levels of training including medical students, residents, and fellows.

Researchers at Nemours Children's Clinic work to improve children's health care and the delivery of that health care. They conduct research programs in a variety of areas, including clinical pharmacology and pharmacodynamics, endocrinology, child psychology, and metabolic diseases. Nemours also has a clinical investigation team to assist investigators in developing protocols and has staff involved in one of today's key areas of research - studying clinical outcomes.
