The 2008 Nemours Vision Awards for Excellence in Child Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

Nemours Health & Prevention Services (NHPS) is pleased to announce a call for nominations for the 2008 Nemours Vision Awards for Excellence in Child Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. The awards will recognize the work of two community-based organizations: one located in Delaware and one located outside the State of Delaware. Award winners will be those organizations with the most effective and visionary programs that address policy and practice changes related to healthy eating and physical activity in an effort to combat childhood obesity. Policy change refers to changes in legislative, regulatory, or administrative governance policy at the state, county, community, district and/or local levels. Practice change refers to changes in the delivery and/or organization of services through providers or practitioners that are directly provided to children and their families.

Award Description

Each winning organization will receive $5,000 and a commemorative award recognizing its achievement. NHPS will also provide travel, lodging, and complimentary registration for the 2008 Nemours Conference on Child Health Promotion for one member of the winning organization.
