Sesame Street Helps to Promote Health Habits

October 3Sesame Street came to Wilmington October 3 to mark the debut of the Healthy Habits for Life resource kit for teachers of 3- to 5-year-old children. Developed by Nemours Health and Prevention Services, KidsHealth and Sesame Workshop, the toolkit features a 100-page guide (in both English and Spanish), an original DVD, a storybook for children and activities for parents, all designed to motivate young children to eat well and be physically active. Nemours CEO David Bailey, MD and Wilmington Mayor Jim Baker joined in the festivities at the Grand Opera House. Following the public event, child care providers attended an overview session on the resource kit conducted by Jeanette Betancourt, EdD, of Sesame Workshop, and Nemours staff. The guide is now available online.
