Gwendoline Angalet, PhD, Director
Gwendoline B. "Gwen" Angalet, PhD is Managing Director, Nemours Health and Prevention Services.
In this role, Gwen ensures that NHPS' work across the school, child care, primary care and community sectors at state and geographic levels is well integrated and achieves maximum high-level sustainable impact for children. She also provides guidance and coaching support to the directors of Community Relations, the Office of Marketing Communications, and the Chief of Staff to ensure that the operations of those units are aligned with the strategic direction of NHPS and integrated with the other operating units in the execution of the strategic plan and budget. This includes providing guidance to the work of the Policy Team in developing and advocating for the annual policy agenda for NHPS.
Gwen also oversees NHPS' customer service and support operations to ensure that organizations throughout Delaware receive the tools and information they need to promote healthy lifestyles among the children and families they serve. Gwen provides leadership for NHPS' work in the community sector, the formation of partnerships with other organizations focused on child health promotion, and the development and advocacy of policies that will motivate decision-makers to make systems change to promote the health of Delaware's children. In addition, Gwen is a member of the Nemours Executive Council.
Gwen’s career in Delaware public service spans two decades. She was previously Special Assistant to the Secretary, Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families, where she provided direct support to the Cabinet Secretary in the development of policies, programs and community resources. She also served as Director of Management Services and Acting Director, Division of Child Mental Health Services within the department during her tenure.
Gwen earned her bachelor’s and masters degrees at the University of Florida and her doctorate in urban affairs and public policy at the University of Delaware.
