Mary Trotter, MS, RD
Mary Trotter, MS, RD, is Program and Policy Analyst for CHI. Mary provides technical assistance, training ,and staff support to community agencies, organizations, and coalitions implementing new health promotion strategies. These strategies may be carried out by providers of primary care, childcare, after-school, school-based, youth development and built environment programs. Prior to joining NHPS, Mary served at the Christiana Cares Eugene duPont Preventive Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute in Wilmington. As Public Education Manager, she coordinated Caring for Claymont, a community-based health promotion program and also provided community outreach programs on nutrition and physical activity, cancer prevention and early detection, and tobacco education and cessation. Previously, Mary was a nutrition consultant for the Nutrition Program for the Elderly for the City of Wilmington and a clinical dietitian for St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. Mary actively publishes and has given presentations on topics ranging from faith-based health initiatives to legislative issues in nutrition.
Mary is a graduate of Rosemont College, where she earned a B.A in Biology and then completed the Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Delaware to earn the credentials of a Registered Dietitian.. She earned a master's degree in Human Nutrition at the University of Delaware.
