Nemours Health & Prevention Services Wins Awards

for Kids Can’t Do It Alone Advertising Campaign

Newark, DE: Nemours Health and Prevention Services (NHPS) was recently honored with three awards from the Sixth Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA): a Gold Award in Newspaper Advertising – Series; a Gold Award for Television Advertising and a Merit Award for Total Advertising Campaign. A national panel of judges evaluated and rated entries in 12 groups and 27 categories. More than 250 advertising agencies and 900 service institutions entered the competition.

NHPS won for the Kids Can’t Do It Alone campaign, part of its statewide obesity prevention efforts that promote the 5-2-1-Almost None lifestyle. This formula encourages kids and adults to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, limit screen time to less than two hours a day, get one hour or more of physical activity each day, and drink almost no sugar-sweetened beverages like soda and sports drinks.

The print ads in the campaign feature Min, Andres, Brian, and Jada, members of The Mighty Timoneers, an animated mini-series about four kids from Delaware who wind up on an incredible journey that helps then understand the importance of eating well and staying active. Each Timoneers character is associated with one of the 5-2-1-Almost None behaviors. The TV advertisement features all four characters with a family living the 5-2-1-Almost None lifestyle.

The Service Industry Advertising Awards was initiated in 2003 to recognize the advertising excellence of the service industry. “The service industry continues to be a major factor in our economy, and therefore the advancement of services advertising is at the cutting edge of the advertising industry,” stated Jan Michael Lok, Executive Director of the SIAA Awards. NHPS worked closely with Worldways Social Marketing to create this award-winning advertising campaign.
