State Senators Thurman Adams and George Bunting sponsored Senate Concurrent Resolution #19 supporting 150 minutes of weekly physical activity/physical education for Delaware public school students. The resolution recognizes the recommendations of the Institute of Medicine that children need at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day and that half of those minutes should occur during the school day. The resolution also expresses the support of the 145th General Assembly to continue to champion the campaign to make Delaware's children the healthiest in the nation. Nemours Health and Prevention Services encouraged action on the resolution and commends Senators Adams and Bunting for their initiative.
