Nursing with InfantThe Department of Nursing believes that each child is a unique individual and has the basic needs for health, happiness, dignity, respect, and recognition. Additionally, the Department regards each patient as a member of a family, supporting patients and parents rights to determine and contribute to the health care decision-making process.

The Department encourages patients and families to participate in the provision of care and incorporates these contributions into the overall plan of care. Individualized plans of care are based on patient/family needs rather than economic or social factors. Patient care is designed to promote physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social health and growth without regard to the patients economic or social status.

The Departments professional nurses work collaboratively with other members of the health care team to develop a plan of care designed to meet these patient needs.

Typical Diagnoses/Problems:

The Department of Nursing staff is involved with the care of patients who have a wide range of pediatric diagnoses.
