Your Gift Helps Kids!
Through your contribution to The Nemours Partnership for Children’s Health, you can help improve children’s health, prevent disease, and help researchers make life-saving discoveries.
Seventy years ago, Alfred I. duPont created a trust that today helps to provide high quality medical care to nearly 250,000 children each year. You can continue his legacy with your gift.
Remember . . . because of Mr. duPont’s trust, 100% of your gift will be used to help children.
Your generosity is truly appreciated!
Tiffany Veet, a junior at Hazleton Area High School, recently presented J. Richard Bowen, MD of Nemours/ Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware, with a check for $1,007.00 to benefit scoliosis (curvature of the spine) research. Tiffany organized a benefit Yoga class for her senior project. The class was an introduction to Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga taught by certified instructor Michele Fisher R.Y.T. at Mystic Yoga on May 2, 2009.
In the summer of 2005, Dr. Bowen performed a successful scoliosis surgery that allows Tiffany to have a normal and healthy life. Later her DNA was used for genetic testing for scoliosis. Dr. Bowen and other researchers are studying ways to eliminate scoliosis without spinal fusion surgeries.
Tiffany is hoping that money raised through the generosity of everyone who participated and donated money for the Scoliosis Research Benefit will help a little bit in achieving that goal.

Do you love the sound of a Harley revving? Then you might want to participate in a special raffle of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that will benefit the Hospital. The motorcycle, a Soft-Tail Fat Boy in Black Denim that includes a riding gear safety package, was generously donated by our wonderful friends at Concordville Nissan-Subaru. It’s just the thing for cruising along the back roads to enjoy the crisp fall weather. Tickets are just $25 each or five for $100. To purchase tickets, contact Kate Handling at 302-651-4383 or khandlin@nemours.org. The drawing will take place in the Hospital lobby on September 11th at 2 p.m.
