Division of Hematology-Oncology

Department of Pediatrics, Delaware Valley

At the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Nemours Center for Cancer and
Blood Disorders (NCCBD), we serve infants, children, and adolescents:

  • Cancer, including leukemia, neuroblastoma, as well as cancers
of the brain, bone, soft tissues, and lymphatic system

  • Blood diseases, including all types of anemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, bone marrow failure, sickle cell disease, and blood clotting disorders (such as hemophilia)

  • Disorders of the bone marrow requiring a bone marrow  transplant. The Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Team of the NCCBD are experts in cord blood transplant, bone marrow transplant, and peripheral blood stem cell transplants for patients with leukemia and other cancers, metabolic diseases, sickle cell disease, and other genetic disorders.

Following the diagnosis of cancer or a blood disorder, the NCCBD team works closely with the family and referring physician to develop a plan of care that includes psychosocial support for the patient and family. Our multidisciplinary team offers a comprehensive scope of services that support the patient and family as they navigate the journey through diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up care.
