Psychology Externship

The Division of Behavioral Health at Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is proud to offer advanced practicum training for pre-doctoral candidates in clinical/professional psychology. Each year, 4 to 7 positions may be offered, dependent upon the availability of opportunities and the match of interests between supervisors and externs.

General Information

Within the Department of Pediatrics, the Division of Behavioral Health includes psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers. We have an APA-approved clinical psychology internship. In Psychology, there are currently 10 full and part-time doctoral-level licensed psychologists and 6 psychology residents (interns), and typically 4-6 postdoctoral fellows and 4-7 practicum students. The Division serves infants, children and adolescents in need of psychological evaluation and treatment. Services are provided to hospital inpatients, outpatients referred from other ambulatory services of the hospital, and patients referred from the community.
