Goals of Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship
The goal of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/ Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children Program is to train physicians in the subspecialty of pediatric anesthesiology.
The resident will be provided with the didactic and clinical experience to foster the acquisition of the requisite knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes that constitute competency in the practice of pediatric anesthesiology.
In so doing the resident will be given the opportunity to develop proficiency in providing anesthesia care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing a wide variety of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
In addition, the resident will be provided the opportunity to develop proficiency in pediatric pain management, pediatric critical perioperative care, and pediatric advanced life support.
Finally, the resident will be provided with opportunities to develop abilities in teaching, research, and the administrative aspects of the specialty of pediatric anesthesiology.
