F. Teaching

The Fellow will be expected to participate in teaching activities for the pediatric residents and medical students. There will be opportunities available during the course of the year, such as noon lectures, weekly didactic sessions with residents and medical students while on the inpatient service, and interactions with them in the outpatient clinic.

The Fellow will also be expected to present relevant journal articles at journal club according to a preset schedule of presenters. In addition to the journal club we have on the 3rd Friday of each month, there will may also be journal article discussions as part of the Thursday morning didactic sessions.

Each Friday morning, a fellow will be responsible for presenting an interesting case to the group. This will be in a power-point format. A schedule of case presenters will be made for the academic year. The purpose of this activity is to hone presentation skills and for the faculty to assess a fellow’s knowledge base.

There may be opportunities for the Fellow to present cases at the Thomas Jefferson GI Grand Rounds held every Wednesday afternoon at TJU as well.
