Application Process
Applicants are selected through the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialty Match conducted by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Participants must enroll with the NRMP directly. Contact NRMP at the following address:

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program at the duPont Hospital for Children is listed yearly in the January issue of the JOURNAL OF PEDIATRICS and the April issue of PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY CARE. Interested candidates must complete a residency in pediatrics or emergency medicine at an accredited program. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview with members of the department. Acceptance into the fellowship requires that the candidate obtain a current unrestricted Delaware state medical license as well as a Delaware state training license.
All interested applicants should apply using ERAS process for submitting their applications and letters of recommendation. Applications are not considered complete unless all required documents have been received.

- ERAS registration is from January through April 2011
- ERAS opens to applicants on July 1, 2011
- Programs download ERAS applications beginning on July 15, 2011
- NRMP match registration opens on August 10, 2011
- PEM application deadline is on August 31, 2011
- NRMP rank order list system opens on October 5, 2011
- Interviews scheduled from September 1, 2011 through November 30, 2011
- NRMP rank order list system closes on November 16, 2011
- NRMP match results available on November 30, 2011
- Fellowship training begins on July 1, 2012
