The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is the only children's hospital in Delaware and draws from three additional states (i.e., Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey. This exposes our interns to a wide range of presenting problems. In addition, interns are provided with experiences in primary care settings in underserved population areas and consultation experiences in racially diverse areas around the Wilmington area to ensure broad exposure to all kinds of families.
As a teaching facility, the hospital is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, and all faculty hold academic appointments at Jefferson. In addition to psychology interns, medical students, residents and fellows specializing in various fields of pediatrics, as well as nursing and allied health students, receive training at the hospital.
