Nurses at Nemours Children Clinic –Jacksonville provide family-centered care to children that is evidence-based and tailored to the individual needs of each child and family.  We strive to minimize the impact of illness and promote the highest quality of health possible for the children and families we serve.  We expect nothing short of excellence from our highly skilled and innovative clinicians.

Our nursing team relies on a shared governance model of organization, which facilitates nursing participation and involvement in clinical decisions that affect patient care.  This model supports and empowers our nursing staff, fostering excellent peer and professional relationships, facilitating collaboration, and encouraging a practice built on accepted national standards and best practices. 

There are currently 59 nurses practicing in administrative, clinical, and research roles at Nemours Children’s Clinic – Jacksonville.  A 2007 survey of nursing staff revealed an average of 10.2 years of service at Nemours, with a range of 11 months to 30 years.  The average years of pediatric nursing experience per nurse was 17.8. Of our staff, 83% hold a baccalaureate degree or higher in nursing; 37% hold advanced degrees in nursing, with 3 at the doctoral level.
