1. Perform all three levels of buffers upon opening a new vial of test strips
2. Recording the results on the appropriate log sheet

1. Allowing ample time for the specimen to react
2. Reading the result by comparing to color chart
3. Interpret the results

3. Understand documentation

1. Record the results on the appropriate form (POCT Daily Log If applicable) and on the patient flowsheet/EMR
