Infectious Disease

The Infectious Diseases Divisions pediatric specialists evaluate children having chronic or recurrent infections, diagnostic puzzles, or unusual bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. These physicians coordinate all required diagnostic and/or therapeutic medical services. Consultation with other pediatric subspecialists is available as needed. Medical support within the duPont Hospital for Children includes clinical microbiologists, immunologists, pediatric pathologists, and state-of-the-art medical imaging.

A Lyme Disease Clinic offers highly sensitive and specific diagnostic testing, and coordinates treatment, therapy, and follow-up care for children known or suspected of having Lyme disease.
