Nutrition

The Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition serves infants, children, and adolescents who have all types of gastrointestinal and nutritional disorders. These disorders include abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis, chronic liver disorders, malabsorptive disorders, and feeding disorders. Comprehensive outpatient and inpatient services are available for evaluation, diagnosis, and management of routine and complex gastroenterologic disorders. These services are enhanced by an integrated cooperative program including nutritionists, family services, and psychologists.

The Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children also offers a Gastroenterology & Nutrition Fellowship Program.

  • All routine upper and lower endoscopic procedures (esophagogastroduodenoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy)
  • Esophageal motility testing
  • Anorectal manometry
  • Antroduodenal motility studies
  • Breath hydrogen testing
  • Therapeutic endoscopy
  • Gastrostomy placement
  • Control of bleeding
