Volunteer Services

The Volunteer Services Program places community volunteers in a variety of supportive roles throughout the hospital. Some volunteers work directly with patients and families, while others choose to work behind the scenes.

The Volunteer Program places adult and college volunteers in positions involving clinical support and clerical assistance in most administrative and clinical departments.

Openings for all volunteer positions change constantly. Clinical support assignments may include offering assistance to families awaiting treatment in Emergency Services, assisting the Child Life staff with patient recreational activities, or aiding the aquatics staff and other therapeutic services staff with patients. Openings for all volunteer positions change constantly. We strive to match volunteers with the assignment, day, and time that best meets their needs as well as ours. Volunteers must be able to volunteer for two to four hours at least one day each week and must complete a minimum of 50 volunteer hours each year. Applications are accepted September through April for adults and college students.
