Children's Advocacy Center

advocacy center imageThe Children's Advocacy Center of Delaware, Inc. (CACD) seamlessly coordinates the services of law enforcement, the judiciary, the State Division of Family Services, and medical personnel during the investigation of alleged child abuse and neglect and in cases where the child may be the witness of serious domestic violence. The CACD model protects the child's privacy and dignity by streamlining the investigative process.

A trained specialist interviews the child, while all interested parties watch on a closed circuit TV. Based on this model, the child only has to talk about the events to one specially-trained interviewer who can help the child start the healing process, while building a solid case to protect them from any further harm. Physical examinations are conducted when needed. Consultation for hospitalized patients is also provided.
