Entrance

Entrance to the mansion is by way of the English Gates. The collection at Nemours was built over many years as Mr. and Mrs. duPont travelled the world finding rare and beautiful objects which they brought back to enhance their home. They frequented the sale rooms in New York, as well as antiques dealers in New York, Philadelphia, and London. As a consequence, the collection is extremely eclectic and has a distinctly personal touch. The many works of art range from early sixteenth century religious works to the twentieth century American works of Frederick Remington and Sidney Lawrence, as well as many examples of the great European masters.
