McCrory Achieves Board Certification with the American College of Medical Practice Executives

Veronica McCrory, RN, MSN, Assistant Administrator with Nemours Children’s Clinic in Pensacola, Florida, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). ACMPE will formally recognize this accomplishment at the ACMPE business meeting in October in conjunction with the Medical Group Management Associations (MGMA) 2006 Annual Conference in Las Vegas.
The designation of CMPE demonstrates that McCrory has achieved board certification in medical practice management. ACMPE certifies an individuals professional competence when one passes rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills sets. These include financial management, human resources management, planning and marketing, information management, risk management, governance and organizational dynamics, business and clinical operations and professional responsibility. The individual must also complete a presentation requirement and earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.
McCrory has been with Nemours for seven years. She worked as a nurse for 26 years, during which time she completed her undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of West Florida and completed her Master of Science degree in Business Administration at Troy State University. She has worked with one of the area hospitals to manage physician practices and opened a (MSO) Medical Service Organization before joining Nemours. McCrory is a member of Emerald Coast Medical Group Management and the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management. She also sits on the Advisory Board of Virginia College. She was a recipient of the Nemours President’s Award with the Pediatric Cardiology Department for implementation of the Outpatient Echocardiogram program.
