Nemours, one of the nation’s largest children’s health systems, announced that it has purchased a 17-acre parcel of undeveloped land in Deerwood Office Park that will become the future site of the Nemours Home Office. The new Home Office site, anticipated for completion by the end of 2008, is located at the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Deerwood Boulevard and Centurion Parkway North in Jacksonville, Florida.
Nemours will be consolidating its existing leased Jacksonville office space used for business operations, with no impact on its patient and clinical care operations. The new Home Office will also house and help Nemours integrate future initiatives under its “One Nemours” drive towards organizational excellence.
“Centralizing our business operations into a home office campus environment has been a carefully planned process,” said Robert Bridges, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nemours. “Nemours will continue to offer the highest quality in pediatric care for children at our various hospital and clinics located in four states, and our new Home Office in Jacksonville will help steer the organization towards that goal.”
A new Home Office in Jacksonville will provide the not-for-profit organization opportunities to improve efficiency in its business operations and to be more effective in the administration of the health services Nemours provides to patients and families. “The financial impact of ownership versus leasing will reduce cumulative operating expense by approximately $20 million over a 20-year period, which can be redirected to our mission. In addition, Nemours associates will be brought together for easier exchange of ideas and improved communication,” said Bridges.
As part of its drive towards excellence in children’s health care, Nemours business operations will continue to set high standards of quality in technical support for patient care and customer service. As Nemours maintains its participation in many other national initiatives to improve outcomes in the delivery of patient-centered care, the Home Office will continue to bring a national focus to these efforts in Jacksonville.

About Nemours
Nemours, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health systems, is dedicated to achieving higher standards in children’s health. Nemours offers an integrated spectrum of clinical treatment coupled with research, advocacy, and educational health and prevention services extending to all families in the communities it serves. Starting with Alfred I. duPont’s bequest over seventy years ago, Nemours has grown into a multi-dimensional organization offering personalized clinical and preventive care focused on children.
Nemours owns and operates the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware and major children’s specialty clinics in Delaware (Wilmington), Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando and Pensacola), Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and Bryn Mawr) and New Jersey (Atlantic City and Voorhees). Having recently received preliminary approval from the State of Florida, Nemours will establish a new full-service children’s hospital as part of an integrated pediatric health campus in Orlando. KidsHealth.org, the world’s most visited pediatric health care Web site for parents, kids and teens, is a project of Nemours.
Nemours employs over 4,400 individuals, including 430 pediatric physicians, specialists and surgeons who cared for approximately a quarter of a million children in 2007. The organization’s goal is to align with parents, physicians, community leaders, children’s advocates and elected officials to ensure optimal wellness for every child.
