Nemours Files Second CON in Orlando

In order to address the growing need for pediatric health care services in Florida, Nemours has filed a second Certificate of Need (CON) application to bring an integrated pediatric health system to Orlando. Nemours vision for integrated services not currently being provided includes the addition of the childrens hospital, as well as advanced research, subspecialty services and training, which the organization currently provides. A decision is expected in mid-December.

The first application, while denied by the state of Florida, is currently in the appeal process and will be reviewed in court.

While seeking approval, Nemours will continue to advance its mission and provide services to restore and improve the health of children through care and programs not readily available, with one high standard of quality and distinction.
