New Administrator for Nemours Children's Clinic, Jacksonville

Nemours, one of the nation’s largest children’s health systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of William A. (Chip) Cover, Jr., as Administrator of the Jacksonville campus of Nemours Children’s Clinic, effective June 4, 2007. Starting his career with Nemours in 1979 as director of outpatient clinics at the Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Cover has held leadership and management positions in virtually every area of Nemours for over 29 years, most recently as senior associate administrator in Jacksonville.

“Chip’s leadership has helped Nemours make significant progress in the areas of enhanced technology, facilities planning, business process development, and health care contracting,” said R. Jay Cummings, MD, Vice President for Nemours Florida “Cover has the experience, knowledge, and commitment to help lead Nemours’ efforts to continue creating an environment where every child we care for is treated as if they were our own.” Responsibilities of the position will include business performance and operations, financial performance, strategic planning and administrative leadership.

Cover received his master’s degree in health care administration from George Washington University in Washington, DC; his residency was completed at the Alfred I. duPont Institute, which has evolved into the full-service duPont Hospital for Children. He is a member and diplomat of the American College of Health Care Executives and in recent years served as a board member and President of the Florida Association of Managed Care Professionals.
