After receiving approval from the state to build a top-tier pediatric hospital on Friday, Nemours Childrens Clinic Orlando (NCCO) will pledge to continue to expand its Brevard County services as needed at an open house community ceremony on Thursday, June 21. The event will take place in their newest facility located at 7000 Spyglass Court, Suite 120, Viera, FL from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The community is invited to celebrate the evening with Nemours, local physicians, elected officials and news media. Tours of the new space will be provided.
Nemours moved out of its original Melbourne location in mid-April and into a larger facility in Viera to better accommodate a growing need for subspecialty pediatric services in Brevard County. The increased room will give physicians the ability to see more patients in an improved environment. This location also provides better access to major thoroughfares in the region.
The Viera clinic is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and will continue to provide the same specialties of Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology and Pulmonology. As part of the pledged Brevard expansion, Nemours will add Endocrinology to the list of services offered at the clinic by late summer/early fall.
"We plan on expanding our subspecialty services in Brevard County as the needs of this community continue to grow," said Floyd Livingston, M.D., pulmonologist and Chief of Pediatrics at NCCO. "Over the next three to five years, we will monitor the area to see how we can best serve the children and increase support. Adding Endocrinology is a first step on this path of service. We are also considering future divisional support for Hematology/Oncology, Pediatric Infectious Diseases as well as Genetics."
The Viera clinic has a total of six exam rooms with additional workspace that will allow clinical staff to be more efficient. The new facility, like the old one, will also have an electronic medical record (EMR) system that is integrated with all other Nemours locations for seamless care or consultation. To schedule an appointment at the new clinic, please call (407) 650-7000.

Nemours, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health systems, is dedicated to achieving higher standards in children’s health. Nemours offers an integrated spectrum of clinical treatment coupled with research, advocacy, and educational health and prevention services extending to all families in the communities it serves. Starting with Alfred I. duPont’s bequest over seventy years ago, Nemours has grown into a multi-dimensional organization offering personalized clinical and preventive care focused on children.
Nemours owns and operates the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware and major children’s specialty clinics in Delaware (Wilmington), Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando and Pensacola), Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and Bryn Mawr) and New Jersey (Atlantic City and Voorhees). Having recently received preliminary approval from the State of Florida, Nemours will establish a new full-service children’s hospital as part of an integrated pediatric health campus in Orlando. Nemours employs over 4,400 individuals, including 430 pediatric physicians, specialists and surgeons who cared for approximately a quarter of a million children in 2007.
