Kathleen D. Wilhere Appointed Chair Of The Nemours/Alfred I. Dupont Hospital For Children Board of Managers

John S. Lord, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nemours Foundation announced the appointment of Kathleen D. Wilhere as Chairperson of the Board of Managers of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.

In this role, Wilhere will lead the five-member Board of Managers in its governance oversight of the programs at the duPont Hospital for Children and its medical staff, the Nemours Children􀂶s Clinic in the Delaware Valley. This oversight also includes all duPont Hospital satellite facilities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and throughout Delaware.

"Kate has played a key role in guiding Nemours in its care for the children of Delaware. She is representative of the caliber of individual who is working with our organization to advance our shared guardianship of children and their families across the state and region. She has a keen sense of the ways we can collectively advance pediatric care in the clinical, preventative and policy arenas," Lord says.

Wilhere is a Certified Public Accountant, formerly of the accountancy firm of Cover+Rossiter, P.A. Wilhere is a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she is also currently an associate professor in non-profit accounting and management.

Her community involvement includes serving on as a board member of the West End Neighborhood House and she is a founding member of Cornerstone West, a community development corporation.

"I am excited to help lead the effort to achieve the Nemours mission of freedom from disabling conditions for all children," Wilhere says.

Wilhere, a lifelong resident of Delaware, currently lives in Wilmington.
